Duties Description

Coordinates, directs and provides professional nursing care to residents of the Nursing Home under the direction and supervision of the ADON/DON. Participate in Admissions. GG, develops, updates, and monitors nursing care objectives in treatment plans for individuals; and administers nursing treatments. Develops and participates in nursing orientation programs and serves as a mentor to new nurses; identifies education and training needs for nursing and direct care staff; observes individual care activities, reviews records, and discusses staff and program requirements with facility managers. Serves as a member of various committees and workgroups concerned with individual treatment and care issues or topics.. Notes: 1. If you fail to maintain your license and/or registration once you are appointed, action will be taken to remove you from the position. 2. In order to be eligible for appointment and to maintain employment, you cannot be listed as an excluded individual or entity on any of the Federal and/or State Medicaid and Medicare exclusion lists. If you are appointed and subsequently listed as an excluded individual or entity on any of these lists, you may be terminated from your employment.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Open Competitive: possession of a license and current registration to practice nursing in New York State; a bachelor’s degree in nursing; and two years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience working with a geriatric population.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with long-term care Facility experience.

In addition to the Posted salary range SG 20 ($74,193-$94,121) base annual pay there is a geographic pay differential of $35,000 a $4,000 Downstate Adjustment ($121,326 - $143,230 base annual pay), $575 annual inconvenience pay and Shift Differential of 7% for evening and 10% for night shift.

Inconvenience pay program of $575 per year will be paid to employees who work four (4) hours or more between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Hours worked between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on an overtime basis are not included for Inconvenience Pay. Additional Shift differential of 7% for evening shift and 10% for Night shift.

This position is part of the NYS HELPS program. No examination is required.

For new State employees appointed to graded positions, the annual salary is the hiring rate (beginning of the Salary Range) of the position.
